As a Forensic Pathologist I will be able to earn $100,000 to $200,000 a year. I would have to complete a pathology residency, be certified by the American Board of Pathology, and Licensed by the state. This may take up to 6 years to fulfill. As a Forensic Pathologist I will perform autopsies, run lab test on human tissue, prepare a report for the coroner, and determine the cause of death. Top three related jobs are Anesthesiologist, Biologist, and Crime Scene Investigator. From the interview I learned you have to be a people person and be able to communicate well with others. There are not many job placements available in the Field. At first I might have to enter the work force in another position. The job may also be inconvenient at times when I have to report to a case that is not at a reasonable hour for me. Due to death's unpredictability, I may be called to work in strange places. This could include hospitals, fields, rivers, or an individual's own personal home. It is preferred that I get a medical and science degree. Luckily, these are my two favorite subjects. Once I become a coroner I have to be sworn into the position unless I resign or breach the rules, because there is always a need for Forensic Pathologist.
